In my personal investigation I will be documenting PRIDE in our daily lives. I will be doing this by first conducting interviews with models to better understand who they are as a person and to grasp a perception of their self identity, in my second stage I will be conducting interviews with models to understand their thoughts on their own reflections and then will base the photoshoots off of them. This theme is really important to me as it takes a lot of strength for a person to be proud of who they are, and especially for me it took a lot of courage to understand who I am as a person and really be comfortable enough in my own skin to let myself be free from the metaphorical closet. I took inspiration mainly from Diane Arbus and the gay liberation movement, Pride has always been something unattainable for me and by coming out I was really able to experience it and even understand more about my community. People like Diane Arbus who documented the community during such times where it was deemed shameful to be gay are such an inspiration to me as she didn't care what others thought about, all she wanted to do was see into other people's worlds and show others how beautiful those worlds truly are.
Inspiration for the first shoot.
*For my first stage I will interview models to then base the shoot off of.*

I define identity as a first impression, who a person is in a nutshell is basically that persons essence of being, that essence can be made up of literally anything; identity is whatever that individual wishes it to be. For me that is fluidity.

Ollie described identity to be meta, to be how a person choses their own labels and to be unique to each individual.
